LÍNEAS DE INVESTIGACIÓN:

La amibiasis constituye un problema importante de salud pública en los países en desarrollo. Uno de los principales objetivos del laboratorio es el establecimiento de modelos experimentales in vivo para el estudio de la patogenia de la amibiasis. En la actualidad, se han caracterizado por métodos morfológicos e inmunológicos, diversos modelos para la amibiasis intestinal y hepática, y con base a ésto, determinar los factores del huésped y del parásito involucrados en el daño del tejido.

Nuestro interés también por la hepatología, nos ha llevado a iniciar estudios relacionados con el daño hepático producido por diferentes agentes toxicológicos y los mecanismos replicacion virales en las hepatitis B y C.
